What Is a Shipping Mark and Why It Matters

Rolling Cargo

A shipping mark is the basic identification written on your cargo boxes. Without it, packages can be misrouted or sent by the wrong shipping method.

What Is a Shipping Mark?

A shipping mark is the basic identification written on your cargo boxes to help us know whose shipment it is and how it should be handled.

What Rolling Cargo Requires

  • At Rolling Cargo, the shipping mark is very simple. It is your name, your phone number, and your shipping method — either air or sea.
  • This is what we use in our warehouses, especially in China, to sort cargo correctly. We have separate handling for air and sea shipments, so this detail is important.

Why It Matters

  • If a package arrives without a proper shipping mark, it can easily be mixed up or even sent using the wrong shipping method. That is why we always tell clients to make sure their suppliers label every box clearly before shipping.
  • A small label, but it makes a big difference in getting your cargo processed and dispatched correctly.
